I love the Olympics. Summer or winter games, when the olympics are on, I come home, flip on the TV and then stay up way too late watching the gymnasts, swimmers, skaters, and other inspiring athletes.
This week the winter games are going on in Sochi, Russia. In addition to my traditional enjoyment watching the competitions, I have delighted in watching my daughter Bridgette enjoy them. When the figure skating is being broadcast, you can find Bridgette twirling in front of our television in an imaginary competition of her own.
Last night, as the Russian pair skaters won the Gold, Bridgette leaped, twirled, twisted, and added narration to her performance: "Bridgette Hanson doing the triple fliple extra hard skate."
Go for the Gold Bridgette!
