Getting Ready For The Bunny

We really got excited about Easter this year.  Maybe that was because our spring was so beautiful (check out our bloomin' roses) or maybe it was because we had so much to anticipate - like the visit from Nick and Jen (see future post).

In any event, this was the first year we got out the dye and colored real Easter Eggs with Bridgette.  Up until now, I'm sure she didn't know there were more than just the plastic, candy-filled variety.

Bridgette also got a bee in her bonnet about making a "jelly bean cake."  I don't know exactly what she had in mind, but after dutifully going to the store and getting some jelly beans, we baked and decorated cupcakes.

I have to add that these were not just cupcakes from the box.  I actually looked up the Martha Stewart chocolate cupcake recipe online, which my sister-in-law turned me on to, and it was worth it. The recipe called for sour cream - so yummy.
