An Unexpectedly Eventful Run

I had the luxury of a flexible schedule this morning and decided to go on a run. Maren decided that the girls should join me - which turned out to be a great idea. Bridgette rode her bike and I pushed Vivi in the jog stroller.

We went on a route in our neighborhood that I've take a million times. However, I have noticed a home on a greenbelt that has a lot of unique animals. Last time we went by, there were several kids there petting the animals, so I thought we'd stop this time and find out what the fuss was about.

Turns out that there's quite a bit of fuss...miniature donkeys, goats, pot-belly pigs, geese, and lots of desert tortoises (turns out the owner rescues tortoises). Also, turns out that the owner is the father a a woman I worked with at Discount Tire. She told me several times that her father lived close to me and had all these wonderful animals. I should have listened sooner!

The girls had a great time feeding the animals...oh, and Bridgette also made us stop so she could climb a tree...and pee on it's roots...good run / bike ride all the way around!
