Three Wheelin'

Of all the fun gifts given at Christmas this year - nothing beat Grandpa's new bicycle.  It had THREE wheels!  When Grandpa saw it by the tree with a large tag that indicated it was for him, he immediately went to sit on it, and raised his fingers in a victory gesture.  He remained on the bike seat for most of the morning, doing his best to ride down our tiled hallway.

Finally, we took it outside and let him give it true whirl.  AMAZING - that is the only way to describe how it was to watch him ride that bike so easily.  Walking for Grandpa is sometimes a disaster, and he has the bruises to prove it.  But to watch him ride, one would never know he had a neurological illness.  Pretty incredible.  Makes me want to cheer and cry all at the same time.
