The anticipation of this get away was almost as good as the going. Bridgette and I even put together stay-cation packages. We filled bags with small toys and munchies for her and Lorin. The bags were opened before we even arrived at the resort.
The resort was perfect. It featured great aquatic entertainment: a lazy river, a slippery slide, and the FlowRider. The last of these was the highlight - a fake wave that participants could surf (or more-often crash) on. Just hang on to your suit - because that water had a tendency to pull the fabric down!
Bridgette, unexpectedly, was the natural at this event. She got on her body board and NEVER crashed. So, the instructors finally had to pull her in with a rope to give others a turn. By the end of their second session, both Bridgette and Lorin managed to get up on their knees hands free - pretty impressive.
During the weekend, the resort provided sparklers, s'mores (red white and blue ones), and fire works (these were actually shot off from a neighboring resort, but we had grand view from the golf course lawn).
And lastly, the adult ladies got to shop at all the high end boutiques just across the street. So, everyone was happy. I anticipate being back again next year. :-)
