Disneyland
Bridgette has now been officially introduced to The Happiest Place On Earth.
We totally scored. Right when we first walked into the park, Mickey Mouse was there. I've gone whole trips to the theme park and never seen Mickey!
We also immediately purchased the requisite mouse hat. Bridgette picked out the Pirate Princess version (more about that later). I am fairly certain there were not so many mouse hat choices when I was a kid.
We steered Bridgette past the tea cups to the flying dumbo ride. She wasn't particular about the rides - being so young. We really could have turned around at Main Street, and she would have thought we'd seen the whole thing. I did make sure though, that we at least hit It's A Small World.
I think Bridgette's highlight was the Sound Sensation parade! We were right at the front, sitting on the sidewalk curb. She was mesmerized.
When Donald Duck's float showed up. She pumped both her little fists in the air and chanted, "Donald Duck, Donald Duck, Donald Duck...."
But the best fun was when Captain Hook came by. Wide-eyed, Bridgette reached for our shopping bag and grabbed out her newly-purchased pirate sword. She held it in front of her in a defensive posture and gave Hook an appropriate glare (or that look might have been trepidation). As for the Captain, he saw her move and came right over with his hook waving menacingly. He gave a faux jab and then retreated from Bridgette's raised sword, acknowledging her victory. It was great! What memories are made of!
