Kevin and I were married on the Saturday of Easter weekend in 2006. We held our reception at the gorgeous Desert Ridge Resort, where spring flowers of every variety adorned the grounds. The first night of our marriage we stayed at the resort in a ground floor suite, and the next morning we woke up to curious noises outside our patio window.

Upon peering past the curtains we discovered a whole host of hotel guests, right there, watching the Easter Bunny get flown in by ultra-light plane!! Really. The arrival of the Easter Bunny was followed by a grand Easter egg hunt that all the children - and adults - enjoyed. As Kevin and I left the resort for Maui later that day, we paused in the lobby to get our photo taken with the Easter Bunny.

I believe that is where our affinity for Easter Bunnies began. The following year, when we returned to the resort for our first anniversary, I gave Kevin a big blue bunny. Last year, Kevin gave me a cute Starbuck's bunny (or bear in a bunny suit). And this year, we bought Bridgette a little purple bunny. It's a tradition I am enjoying.
We've got all our bunnies out already -welcoming the Easter season - and delighting my young nieces, nephews, and cousins when they come to visit (or they could just be delighted by the jelly beans!).
