Sacrificing at least a couple of hours of sleep, Kevin and I rose before dawn, put our breakfast casserole together, threw Bridgette in her carseat, and drove over to Marc and Karen's house to observe the chaos! (though pictured below is actually our tree)
Santa brought the Tobler kids the coolest toys - these scooter-like contraptions that propel themselves forward as the rider turns the butterfly shaped steering column back and forth. Even the BIG kids enjoyed them.
Bridgette participated in the present-opening frenzy by eating the cast-aside wrapping.
Our favorite gift giving moment came when Karen opened her present from Kevin. Previously, we had secretly hijacked Karen's kids and taken them to As You Wish, a pottery painting store. We had Marc and each kid paint his or her own unique mug. I painted one for Karen, and Kevin painted one for Charlotte. The mugs turned out fantastic, and we had a terrific time doing it!! Karen claims that the kids truly kept it a secret - but they were practically dancing on their toes Christmas morning, waiting for their mom to open this particular package!
