Last night was historic. I had to take a photo of the television screen as they projected Barack Obama the winner of the presidential election. Those of us watching at my home flipped from channel to channel as we watched people all around the country, and even all around the world, gather together and celebrate this moment. I was touched nearly to tears this morning as I heard a 109 year old black woman, daughter of a slave, speak on NPR about what it meant to her to have a man of color elected president of this great country. And today, my belief that this country is great is renewed.
As for Bridgette ('cuz without a picture of her, no post to this blog is complete), last night she went with neither elephants nor donkeys. Instead, she embraced the frog party - wearing the latest footsie pajama pick of her father. Kevin said this does not make her a Frenchie.
