Our Jack In The Box

I brought home a crate full of work this evening, and as I was eating dinner, Bridgette found a much more fun use for my box of files. She climbed right in and began playing what has been her favorite game lately...

"Where's Bridgette?"

"There she is!"

First Hair Cut

We finally relented. Poor Bridgette's bangs were hanging in her eyes. So, we took her to get her first haircut.

Maren tried to hold her in her lap, but she squirmed and squirmed. She wasn't at all unhappy about the haircut. She was just her usual curious self. She wanted to see everything there was to see. Everything went well. Our girl is even cuter than ever, but she gave us a run for our money.

We also got some curly locks for her baby-book. As gratifying as that was, the best part was that she didn't end up with a bullet (baby mullet)!

"I Love You" Too

Today, Bridgette mastered my favorite phrase, "I love you."

The pronunciation may not be perfect, but it's clear to me. I'll never tire of hearing her little voice say those three little words.

Before we put Bridgette down tonight, Kevin caught the phrase on video - to dust off and play whenever our hearts need refueling!

Great Grandma "Delia"

Bridgette's middle name is Adelia - after my Gradma on my Dad's side, Adelia Allen Tobler.

So, last night on a whim I started calling Bridgette, "Adelia Bediela," then just "Delia." The funniest thing happened. Bridgette totally responded. She repeated "Delia" back to me multiple times and smiled in the sweetest way.

I asked her, "Did you know your Grandma Adelia?" And she just continued to smile - even giggle a little.

Of course, she really couldn't understand my question, and I didn't really expect her to answer. But Kevin and I both felt there was just something there.

Our Escape Artist

Yesterday, at her Aunt Karen's house, Bridgette made The Great Escape.

Sometime around midmorning, Karen put Bridgette down for her nap. Karen put Bridgette in a pack-n-play, in a walk-in closet, in Jackson's bedroom. 5 -10 minutes later... Bridgette comes toddling down the hall, looking pleased as punch. This does not bode well for the future.
